Sustainable Development Goal 14, "Life Below Water," centers on conserving and sustainably using the oceans, seas, and marine resources for sustainable development. The goal encompasses efforts to combat marine pollution, overfishing, and habitat destruction, which threaten marine life and ecosystems. SDG 14 emphasizes the protection of coastal and marine areas, the reduction of marine pollution, and the sustainable management of fisheries. By 2030, this goal aims to prevent and significantly reduce marine pollution of all kinds, as well as sustainably manage and protect marine and coastal ecosystems. With ten targets and eleven indicators, SDG 14 monitors progress in areas such as marine protected areas, fish stocks status, and marine pollution levels. By promoting sustainable fisheries, conserving marine biodiversity, and ensuring the health of marine ecosystems, SDG 14 supports the well-being of coastal communities and the preservation of marine life.
