Sustainable Development Goal 16, "Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions," centers on promoting peaceful, just, and inclusive societies and building effective, accountable, and transparent institutions. The goal encompasses efforts to reduce violence, combat corruption, and ensure equal access to justice and legal rights. SDG 16 targets promoting the rule of law, developing effective, accountable, and transparent institutions at all levels, and ensuring public access to information and fundamental freedoms. By 2030, this goal aims to significantly reduce all forms of violence and related deaths worldwide and ensure equal access to justice for all individuals. With twelve targets and twenty-three indicators, SDG 16 monitors progress in areas such as the number of homicides, access to legal identity, and corruption perception. By promoting accountable institutions, ensuring access to justice, and combating violence and corruption, SDG 16 supports peace, security, and human rights for all.
