#05 Gender Equality

Sustainable Development Goal 5, "Gender Equality," is dedicated to achieving gender parity and empowering all women and girls. The goal encompasses efforts to end all forms of discrimination, violence, and harmful practices against women and girls. It emphasizes promoting women's rights, ensuring equal access to resources and opportunities, and eliminating gender-based stereotypes. SDG 5 targets enhancing women's participation in decision-making processes at all levels and aims to eliminate gender disparities in education and employment. By 2030, this goal strives to ensure women's full and effective participation in leadership roles in public and private spheres. With nine targets and fourteen indicators, SDG 5 monitors progress in areas such as gender wage equality, legal frameworks, and harmful practices. By empowering women and girls, promoting their rights, and addressing the root causes of gender inequality, SDG 5 contributes to creating a more equitable and inclusive society.
